I find it convenient that this is supposed to be unbiased. I have been a licensed optician for over 20 years and I go by what my patient reactions are my redo rate and performance rate. I dont think Unity lenses are bad but they are not the best eiather. Vsp wants to monopolize and control everything. VSP CHOICE IS NO CHOISE. AMERICAN I THINK NOT. NO FREEDOM NO CHOICE!!!!!!!! THIS ADVERTISEMENT WAS A MARKETING TOOL NOT FACTS. Every Lens company say their lenses are the best.

I am sorry to see VSP shift to the arm twisting marketing technique. Even if it was the best product, it does not feel good. We had the opinion that VSP was one of the best options for our patients. You have forced us to honestly explain that you are deciding for them what options they should choose. They will be better served seeking other alternatives. I understand your numbers. Can you understand that your VSP One labs leave a bad taste in our mouths. The service is not the same as we receive elsewhere. The quality is not the same. I have shared specifics with our rep. It has not improved the situation. We will miss the days when you aided us in doing our jobs well. I understand that we are a dying breed that still make business decisions based on the best interests of our patients. We are just disappointed that VSP decided to change their model.

We have found the Unity product to be our most accepted progressive lens to date. We have had less issues with this product than any other progressive we have ever tried. The product is excellent and is our go to lens of choice not only for quality but for our own profit.

“New Infographic Reveals Truth”!? Interesting the truth could be derived from a survey of a whopping 93 opticians. Perhaps instead of continuing to push its silly propaganda, VSP might try a different, more refreshing approach by actually being honest. The truth is Unity lenses are average at best and their lab customer service is subpar. We all know VSP stopped supporting private practice years ago, but must we regularly be subjected to the patronizing reassurances that it functions with our best interests in mind? Meanwhile as VSP contributes to the erosion of our business, our options, and our choices?

How surprising. VSP says their products are the best. "Learning how utilize this strategy" is code for talking my patients into using the lenses that provide better reimbursement for me, irregardless of what is in the patients' best interest.

So if EssilorLux were to allow VSP lenses on the Eyemed formulary would you go back to the old reimbursement schedule?
